Custom Textile Printer Forges the Way to Digital Dye Sublimation

18-Mar-2015

Leading supplier of furnishing textile solutions across Australia and New Zealand, Materialised, reveal how their Roland equipment has helped to change the way they produce their custom fabrics and how this new technology is shaping the future towards full in-house digital production.

Located in South West Sydney, Materialised has over 35 years in the contract furnishing market and specialises in producing custom furnishing textile solutions to a wide range of customers, with a particular focus in the hospitality and healthcare industries.

In this, the latest in the 'I'm a Roland User' video series, owner Gary Price and digital print operator Carla Yeung, explain the integral role that their 3 Roland PRO4 XF-640 wide format printers play in the dye sublimation process.

"We'll probably go 100% digital within the foreseeable 5 years," said Gary commenting on the future for Materialised. The digital printing process was initially introduced only for sampling purposes, however in the last 12 months Materialised decided to accelerate the transition from off-shore Rotogravure to in-house digital, with great success due to the increased productivity they have achieved with their Roland XF-640's.

With the market for textiles and soft signage ever expanding, Materialised are leading the way in the transition to digital and Roland DG are proud to be a key part of this process. Roland DG Sales Manager, Greg Stone comments "It is great to see what Materialised is achieving with their Roland dye sublimation solution. Roland has been heavily involved in the digital dye sublimation market for many years and we are excited for the future as we introduce new technology into this space."

Gary concludes, "We set out to make a difference, and having the right tools that function predictably... we can make a difference, and we consider Roland to be the right tool."
